To start off, that title is no lie. I do not believe in the ethics or care much for Tumblr as a whole. With that being said, I will have no hard feelings going forward with my forced use of this website.
Anyways, I’ve learned so much from this class I couldn’t even begin to list it all. Well, I guess there’s no harm in trying.. from inner objects, to playing actions rather than emotions, to always being as specific as possible, to causing and reacting to a stimulus, to much more. It was amazing for me to take this class as an actor and as a person. One of my many dreams is to become a successful actor and I truly believe this class facilitated my growth and put me one step closer to that dream.
I’m really looking forward to performing the scene with Rachel next week. We are going to rehearse a few times to iron out the few wrinkles we have and I have no doubt we will both nail it when the day comes.
Threepenny Opera rehearsal’s start tomorrow and I can’t wait to work with the REP, especially the infamous Pelinski.
Thanks for an awesome semester Cat and Pelinski!
Almost done with this class forever?? Noo! Almost done with using tumblr forever? Yess!
In our last class before break, Pelinski was dropping knowledge and analyzing people Dr. Phil style left and right. Some of the philosophy he referred to is part of my own philosophy which is that perception is reality. The way you view the world and view how you fit into the world eventual becomes how you exist in the reality you live in. The right mindset can really change your life and lead you to completing things you never thought possible. It can also work the other way where the wrong mindset can leave you afraid of the world and really hold you back. There is no worse emotion than fear, and living a life without fear can make you possibilities endless. I always try to have full confidence in myself, regardless of the situation I find myself in. Because of this, I have a lot of self confidence and truly believe that I can do anything I set my mind to.
This relates to acting in that if you have confidence in yourself, the audience can pick up on that and can even easier find out if you are lacking in confidence. Even if the situation is an uncomfortable one, fake it to you make it will almost always prevail, as long as you have the confidence in yourself to succeed. And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
Saw Skyfall last night.. not as good as the other Daniel Craig Bond movies, but better than any Pierce Brosnan Bond movie.
Almost time to devour delicious food and drink with the family! Hope things don’t get too awkward when I get wasted… Anyways, Rachel and I have now rehearsed a few times outside of class, and it’s coming out pretty awesome. We have some high expectations for our scene and we should do nothing else but nail it. The main things were worked on was forcing an impulse on each other so that we can react to a stimulus. We also did a bunch of work with the blocking of the scene and it looks like with the help of Pelinski, we got it all figured it.
I got my tickets for Anything To Declare for December 1st, so since it’s a seasoned production at that point I’m expecting some big things. I’ve already heard from a few people that it’s hilarious and amazing, but this remains to be seen… Just kidding I know it’s going to be awesome and that Pelinski will be doing all those things he tells us to incorporate into our own performance such as inner objects.
